HOW WELL DO YOU REMEMBER YOUR HIGH-SCHOOL SPORTS CAREER? If you're like me ... not much. With that in
mind, welcome to MATCHUP. We are a business that works with high school sports teams to provide a quality yearbook that
commemorates an individual sports team's season. These high-quality, magazine-style publications feature game recaps,
statistics, photographs, feature articles and more. It's a valuable sports yearbook everyone will appreciate forever.
About Matchup
MATCHUP STARTED in
2007 as the name of a 12-
page game program that
was offered to Utah high
schools, which they could
provide to their fans for their
home football and basketball
games.
That product is still offered, but the business has changed
considerably and now focuses almost entirely on sports
yearbooks and media guides. It is owned and operated in
Salt Lake City, Utah by Bruce Smith, a former newspaper
sports writer. To my knowledge, there's no other business in
America like this..
The demand continues to grow and Bruce has hired people
to help. This sports yearbook idea a great way for teams to
commemorate their seasons. It will continue to grow as
schools, and booster clubs, realize the value that this
product brings to their teams.
"Our players and coaches loved the book. Bruce took the
time to make it professional. It is not some cheap 'cut and
paste' packet."
- Ron Ence, Riverton (Utah) head girls basketball coach
Schools often provide their players with a post-season gift,
but they don't really spark memories like the Matchup sports
yearbook.
High-school sports are often the pinnacle of a player's
career, and the yearbooks the schools provide really can't do
it justice. Most sports get 1-4 pages, with spring sports
getting hurt the most because their seasons often take place
after the annual's deadline.
Keep in mind, this is a small business and, if you're not
familiar with it, it's because I haven't invested in a huge
marketing campaign or just haven't visited you. Right now,
I've focused primarily on Utah and Southern Idaho schools.
However, I'm not limited. You can always contact me.

Current projects
The high school football and basketball seasons are
over and now I can focus my full attention on yearbooks. If you look
below, it appears I have a lot of work to do over the new few months. It's
likely that I will be working on yearbooks for most of the summer, too.
Keep in mind, however, that a lot of these jobs are already half-finished.
In the meantime, check out some of the jobs I'm working on now.
To do list (in no particular order)
FOOTBALL
Kuna (Idaho), Nampa (Idaho)
Business is booming, and I'm always busy,
People always ask that question, so I recently started putting my articles on a blog.
All the feature and recap articles I write are being placed on it. I write A LOT of articles. The blog is updated several times a week. To check it out, click here.
