Oct. 31 - Sky View 48, East 16

Story of the game - QB Kyler Carlsen passed for 350 yards and five
touchdowns, including a 64-yard TD throw on the Bobcats' first play,
as Sky View routed East and advanced in the 4-A playoffs.

East's best moment - Down 48-0, East finally scored in the fourth
quarter on a 5-yard run by Sunia Tautioli and a 25-yard pass from
backup QB John Webb to Tanner Curtis.

Sky View's best moment - The Bobcats were in control the entire
game. The defense forced four turnovers and had three QB sacks. It
was a great win on East's home field and helped erase memories
of past playoff losses to the Leopards.

What was learned from the game - The Leopards never showed
up to play. It was - by far - their worst game. However, Sky View
could be a sleeping giant. We'll find out next week.

Next - East is done for the season. Sky View advances to play at
Timpview.

Oct. 23 - East 34, West 7

Story of the game - East QB Danny Tuai passed for three
touchdowns, and Sunia Tautioli rushed for 108 yards as East rolled
past West with a big second half. Since it beat Highland earlier this
season, East won the mythical "Salt Lake City championship."

East's best moment - After a fumble led to West's touchdown, the
Leopards' defense dominated. The game was tied at 7-7 at
halftime, but East erupted for 20 fourth-quarter points to secure the
win on West's home field.

West's' best moment - Early in the game, Tipa Valsigano forced a
fumble at the 2-yard line. Two plays later, QB Daniel Wray scored on
a sneak to give the Panthers the lead. West's defense had a big
game, forcing four sacks.

What was learned from the game - East has the No. 2 seed from
Region 6 and will play a first-round home game. The Leopards'
mainstay this season has been their defense, which held another
opponent to just one score.

Next - East starts the 4-A playoffs against Region 5's third-place
team.
West travels to Timpview in another first-round game.

a Sky View player.
East quarterback Danny Tuai
Oct. 15 - East 20, Cyprus 6

Story of the game - East's Ryan Shipp had 111 yards and two touchdowns, and teammate Sunia Tautiola rambled 79 yards for another score
as the Leopards took charge in the second half to claim a Region 6 home win over Cyprus.

East's best moment - Tautioli had his long run in the third quarter, and Shipp had a 56-yard scamper a few minutes later. The defense played
well all day, limiting Cyprus to just that one score.

Cyprus' best moment - Albert Wolfgramm scored the Pirates' only touchdown on a 10-yard run in the second quarter. The extra point was
missed, but the Pirates were within 7-6 at halftime.

What was learned from the game - The Leopards' defense gave up a season low (six) point total. East needs to win next week to assure
itself of the No. 2 seed from Region 6.

Next - East travels to play its long-time rival, West. Cyprus returns home to play Granger.

Oct. 10 - Cottonwood 42, East 26

Story of the game - RB Isi Sofele rushed for 166 yards on 33 carries and Jason Bilanzich recovered two fumbles and intercepted a pass as
Cottonwood built a big lead and handily beat East in a Region 6 game.

East's best moment - Trailing 36-0, East rallied behind QB Danny Tuai, who threw touchdown passes to Andrew Williams and Taylor
Swensen, and also ran for two others.

Cottonwood's best moment - Cottonwood led 7-0 when Bilanzich recovered a fumble and pitched it to teammate Jason Lundquist, who ran
for a score. On East's next play, the Leopards fumbled again and Bilanzich recovered. He pitched it (again) to a teammate, but he was tackled.

What we learned from this game - Cottonwood will be the Region 6 champion. East now will likely have to beat rival West in order to earn the
No. 2 seed.

Next -  East returns home to play Cyprus, which plays well on the road. Cottonwood goes to Granger.

Oct. 3 - East 38, Olympus 15

Story of the game - QB Danny Tuai passed for three touchdowns and the Leopards rallied from a 9-0 deficit to turn back Oly's upset bid in a
Region 6 game.

East's best moment - Tuai hit Webb, Williams and Swenson for scores, and Tautioli ran 63 yards for a TD to help East turn this game into a
rout. The Leopards' defense did a nice job after the opening few minutes.

Oly's best moment - The Titans' problem this season has been an inconsistent offense, and its defense has given up the most points in
region. Oly gave East a scare immediately by scoring a touchdown and hitting a field goal in the first quarter.

What we learned from this game - The Leopards might have been looking forward to next week's game at Cottonwood, and quickly learned
they can't do that.

Next - East travels to play Cottonwood in a game that will likely decide the Region 6 winner. Oly returns home to play Granger.

Sept. 26 - East 48, Granger 7

Story of the game - Edward Fakahafua rushed for 73 yards on 10 carries to lead a balanced offensive attack to lift East to a big first-half lead
and an easy win over Granger in a Region 6 game.

East's best moment - The Leopards' defense was dominant. Leading 24-0, Edward Tanner intercepted a pass late in the first half and raced
30 yards for a touchdown.

Granger's best moment - Manu Samani ran for 81 yards on 17 carries. He also scored the Lancers' only touchdown in the fourth quarter. The
Lancers at least prevented the rout from starting earlier when Daniel Fusitua intercepted a pass in the end zone.

What we learned from this game - The Leopards are on track toward an Oct. 10 showdown against Cottonwood. The defense has stepped
up in region play, holding the last three opponents to seven points each.

Next - East returns home to play Olympus. Granger travels to play Murray.

Links - The Deseret News had a reporter at the game. To read the D-News story, click here. To read the Salt Lake Tribune brief, click here.

Sept. 19 - East 34, Murray 7

Story of the game - Danny Tuai passed for two touchdowns and John Webb and Edward Fakahafua took care of the running game as the
Leopards had no trouble beating Murray in a Region 6 game.

East's best moment - Offensively, the Leopards controlled the ball on the ground. Tuai only passed six times. Simote Iloa, Steve Tuikolovatu
and Joe Pupouniva were East's stars on defense.

Murray's best moment - Information is limited about this game. How the Spartans scored was not available.

What we learned from this game - There was little doubt who would win this game, as East will likely challenge for the region title and Murray
might not win a game.

Next - East travels to play at Granger. Murray has a game at Cyprus.

Links - There was no media coverage of the game, and the only article available was in the Salt Lake Tribune. To read the story, click here.

Sept. 12 - East 14, Highland 7

Story of the game - In a great rivalry game, Taylor Swenson caught a touchdown pass, intercepted another and broke up two passes near the
end zone in the final minute to help the Leopards to a hard-fought 14-7 win over Highland.

East's best moment - After QB Danny Tuai dropped to one knee on the game's final play, Leopard fans stormed the field to celebrate the win.
It was East's second straight victory following a series of defeats to Highland.

Highland's best moment - The Rams jumped to an early 7-0 lead on a short run by Bridger Walzer. Highland's defense put the clamps on
East, holding the Leopards to minus-33 yards in the opening 12 minutes.

What we learned from this game - Check out East coach Larry Eldracher's quote about the first quarter: "We looked like dog meat, didn't we."
It was another close game for the Leopards, and they've won three.

Next - East travels to play Murray in another Region 6 game. Highland returns home to play Granger.

Sept. 5 - East 21, American Fork 10

Story of the game - Matt Price had three interceptions, a fumble recovery and caught a key fourth-down pass late in the game as the East
Leopards shook off an injury to teammate John Webb to take a 21-10 non-region victory over American Fork.

East's best moment - East trailed 10-7, but used a number of runs by Sunia Tautioli. On fourth down, however, QB Danny Taui hit Price on a
48-yard pass that led to the go-ahead TD. The Cavemen tried to rally, but Price picked off the pass and returned it for the score.

American Fork's best moment - The Cavemen defense was the story until the game's final moments. The had nullified East's passing
offense until that one pass. It was AF's best defensive showing of the season.

What was learned from the game? Another close game for East, and again the Leopards get late-game heroics to claim the win. Of all
Region 6 teams, East's non-region schedule has given it the most experience.

Next - East takes on Highland in its first Region 6 game. American Fork travels to play at Skyline.

Aug. 29 - Skyline 19, East 16

Story of the game - Skyline RB Algernon Brown ran for 76 yards and two TDs, but it was the the Eagles' defense that made the difference in a
close win over East in a non-region game.

East's best moment - Trailing 19-9, East got back into the game when it recovered a Skyline fumble. East QB Danny Tuai then hit Taylor
Swenson on a 16-yard scoring pass to make it a game again.

Skyline's best moment - The Eagles' coaching staff was worried about a letdown following last week's win over Bingham. With the scored
tied 6-6, Skyline's Caleb Latteier stopped an East drive, then Latteier caught a 30-yard pass that resulted in the go-ahead touchdown.

What was learned from the game? East is now 1-1 in close games, but has gained a huge amount of experience.

Next - East has a home game against American Fork. Skyline is now 2-0 and will play at Highland.

article,

Aug. 22 - East 29, Snow Canyon 26

Story of the game - Call it a tale of two contests. Snow Canyon dominated the first half, and East won the second. East players say they are a
second-half team, but what that means is there are some coaches or players who were collaborating and figuring out how to win.

East's best moment - The entire second half. The Leopards rallied from a 20-7 halftime deficit that became 26-7 after Snow Canyon's initial
second-half possession. East could have easily  been demoralized at intermission. The offense came alive on Ryan Shipp's electrifying TD
run, but it was the defense that kept Snow Canyon from winning on East's home field.

Snow Canyon's best moment - Adam Timo is the real deal. The BYU recruit put on a great show in the first half, including a 60-yard  TD run
right before halftime. Timo finished with 198 yards on 27 carries.

What was learned from the game? East believes. Why wouldn't they after what they accomplished? The Leopards consider themselves to be
a second-half team and that means they are never out of a game, no matter how far they might be behind.

Next - It doesn't get easier for East, which has to play at Skyline. Snow Canyon has to take another long bus ride to Orem.
