Highland blew out to an early lead and turned back East in a
Region 6 game between East side rivals.
Highland's best moment: The Rams led 13-4 after one quarter
and 22-8 at halftime. The defense was making things difficult for
East and they coasted to the win.
East's best moment: The Leopards were trailing 27-14 entering
the fourth period when they finally got their offense going. They
were also helped by Highland's poor free-throw shooting, but still
couldn't catch up.
Statistical notes: The 27 points given up was a season low for
Highland. The Rams were 3-11 from the free-throw line. Liz Fetzer
led East with nine points. Kafi's 15 points was a season high.
Chanel Roe had eight.
What we learned from this game: It was the season opener and

a huge foul advantage over Highland. Gabby Winters backed up
Wright with 15 points.
Statistical notes: Highland made just 5-18 of its free throws. This

small lead early and then slowly extended it.

line.
Statistical notes: Katie Tominaga added 15 for Brighton, and
Shelbi Everett had 11. Brighton was 16-24 from the free-throw line;

period. The Rams led just 34-29. Late in the game, however, Lehi
was forced to foul and Highland hit its shots. The Rams finished
18-25 from the free-throw line.
Lehi's best moment: Highland was obviously trying to stop Jackie
Cattani and Gabby Granthem and did - to a point. Briar Sands
picked up the slack and led Lehi with 12 points.
Statistical notes: Cattani had two three-point baskets for Lehi.
Mixsa Kafi scored eight points for Highland. The Rams outscored
Lehi 19-9 in the final quarter. The 38 points was a season low
given up by the Rams.
What we learned from this game: Highland earned its second
straight road win, while Lehi fell to 3-3. Making free throws will help
Highland throughout the season.
Next: Highland returns home to play Brighton Dec. 16. Lehi goes to
East tonight (Dec. 12).

lead after three quarters. Kave’ Lea’aetoa had 11 for Highland.
Tooele's best moment: The Buffaloes were in control in the first
quarter, which had to give them a lot of confidence. Tooele played
evenly with Highland in the fourth period, but the game was
decided by then.
Statistical notes: Both teams shot around 50 percent from the free-
throw line. Tooele dropped to 0-4 with the loss. Highland held the
Buffaloes to just five points in the third quarter.
What we learned from this game: This was Highland's first game

Story of the game: Chanel Roe scored 17 points as Highland
staged a fourth-quarter rally and went on to edge Judge Memorial
in both team's season opening game.

fourth quarter. That gave Highland the momentum in the overtime,
which they used to earn their first win over the Bulldogs in 12 years.
Judge Memorial's best moment: Erika Martinez and Tina
Fakahafua were a great 1-2 punch for the Bulldogs. Martinez led
the with a game-high 21 points and Fakahafua had 19. The

it.
Statistical notes: 5-11 Beauty Tuakalau backed up Roe with 10
points. Mikelle Mancini had 10 for Judge. Both teams shot 50
percent from the free-throw line.
What we learned from this game: This was a good first game for
both teams. With the win, Highland has turned it into a
neighborhood "rivalry" again. Judge benefits a lot from playing
bigger schools as it prepares for the Region 10 season.

Judge travels to Grantsville the same night.
