Nov. 7 - Hurricane 28, Judge Memorial 17
Story of the game - Gary Bracken had two interceptions and the
Tigers took advantage of six Judge turnovers and claimed a home
victory in the 3-A playoff quarterfinals.
Judge's best moment - Trailing 7-0, Paul Clark returned the
ensuing kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown. The Bulldogs added a
34-yard FG by Riley Harper and were within 14-10 at halftime. Chris
Pell hit Keenyn Walker on an 18-yard TD pass to close out the
scoring. The Bulldogs tried an on-sides kick, but Hurricane
recovered.
Hurricane's best moment - The Tigers were never headed in the
second half because Judge kept turning the ball over. Judge
fumbled twice inside Hurricane's 20-yard line.
What we learned from the game - This was a tough game to win,
especially after having such a long bus ride.
Next - Judge is done for the season. Hurricane advances to play
Morgan in a 3-A semifinal at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

Nov. 1 - Judge Memorial 55, North Sanpete 16
Story of the game - Keenyn Walker touched the ball just three
times, but scored TDs each time, and the Bulldogs intercepted five
North Sanpete passes en route to a comfortable win in the opening
round of the 3-A football playoffs.
Judge's best moment - Any time Walker got the ball, he scored. He
had TD runs of 58 and 72 yards, and he also returned a punt 72
yards for a score. Judge led 42-0 at halftime, and the Hawks didn't
score until the fourth quarter.
North Sanpete's best moment - This game was kind of like a
repeat of their season opener. QB Taylor Ricks did get the Hawks
on the scoreboard with a pair of fourth-quarter TD passes. He also
passed for the two-point conversions.
What we learned from the game - The 55 points was a season
high and the Bulldogs have now won four straight. We'll see how
well their tough pre-season schedule prepared them.
Next - Judge advances and will play at Hurricane next week. North
Sanpete is done for the season.

Oct. 23 - Judge Memorial 24, Uintah 19
Story of the game - Vince Conti returned an interception 54 yards
for a touchdown that helped Judge build a big lead, and then
Keenyn Walker's 76-yard run helped the Bulldogs keep it in their
Region 10 victory.
Judge's best moment - Mason Minhando had a long scoring run
early, and Conti's pick gave Judge a 14-0 lead, which the Bulldogs
stretched to 17-0 at halftime. Uintah rallied, but Walker's run gave
Judge some extra breathing room.
Uintah's best moment - Vernal is a tough place to play, and the
home team got the crowd back into the game with a pair of
third-quarter scores.
What we learned from the game - The win gave Judge a tie for first
place, and the region's No. 2 seed. Just as important, it was the
Bulldogs' third straight win and gave them a .500 record.
Next - Judge will open the 3-A playoffs with a home game against
North Sanpete. Uintah is done for the season.

Oct. 15 - Judge Memorial 41, Union 18
Story of the game - Keenyn Walker returned a kickoff 86 yards for a touchdown and James McDonough recovered a fumble for another
score as Judge broke loose in the third quarter to beat Union in a Region 10 game.
Judge's best moment - Leading 12-6 at halftime, Walker and McDonough's scores came in the third quarter when Judge moved ahead
34-12 in front of the home crowd.
Union's best moment - QB Gauge Smith tossed three touchdown passes for the Cougars, but they were unable to make any of their
extra-point attempts.
What we learned from the game - Judge is still alive. This was the Bulldogs' second straight win. Park City has clinched the top spot in
the region, but Judge can grab the No. 2 seed with a win at Uintah.
Next - Judge travels to Vernal to play Uintah. Union returns home to take on Wasatch.
Links - There was no local media coverage of this game. To read the Deseret News brief, click here. The Salt Lake Tribune did not
report on the game.
Oct. 10 - Judge Memorial 16, Wasatch 0
Story of the game - Keenyn Walker and Zach McKown scored touchdowns and the Judge defense played one of its best games of the
season in a Region 10 win in cold Heber City.
Judge's best moment - Judge had lost five straight games, so this had to taste pretty sweet. It also throws the region race into disarray.
Judge's offense wasn't prolific, but it scored as many points as the last three games combined.
Wasatch's best moment - The Wasps have been shut out in their last two games. Perhaps they aren't the best team in the land, but
Judge needed a game like this to have any postseason hopes.
What we learned from the game - The season isn't over. Judge still has a chance to get back to the team we thought it could be. The
defense has been pretty good lately. Maybe that's what carries them from now on.
Next - Judge plays Union at Juan Diego's field. Wasatch travels to rival Park City.

Oct. 3 - Park City 16, Judge Memorial 0
Story of the game - Eric Walker ran for two touchdowns and Ben Portwood kicked a 47-yard field goal to lift Park City to a surprising 16-0
shutout win over Judge Memorial in a Region 10 game.
Judge's best moment - The Bulldogs' offense has struggled lately, and this marked the first time this season they were shut out. Judge
had just 34 total yards, as well as two interceptions and three fumbles.
Park City's best moment - Dylan Chynoweth rushed for 130 yards on 19 carries as the Miners were able to control the ball with their
rushing offense.
What we learned from the game - Clearly, there are problems with the Judge team that the coaches will need to work out. Fortunately,
the Region 10 opponents are in disarray, too, and the Bulldogs are still in the title hunt.
Next - Judge travels to Heber City to take on league-leader Wasatch. Park City returns home to play Uintah.

Sept. 26 - Orem 15, Judge Memorial 9
Story of the game - Bruce Garlinghouse rushed for 118 yards on 13 carries, but the Judge offense was stopped at Orem's 8-yard line
late in the game and that allowed the Tigers to spoil the home team's homecoming.
Judge's best moment - Garlinghouse started the scoring with a 75-yard TD run early in the game. The Bulldogs, however, could not get
the ball into the end zone after that.
Orem's best moment - Josh Hamblin scored on a 2-yard run in the fourth quarter to break a 9-9 tie. The Tigers missed the extra point,
but the defense came through by holding off Judge at the end.
What we learned from the game - The Bulldogs have lost four straight, and this exciting loss at homecoming certainly didn't help.
Judge starts region play next week.
Next - Judge will take on Park City at Juan Diego's field. Orem returns home to take on Region 7 foe Springville.

Sept. 19 - Juan Diego 35, Judge Memorial 7
Story of the game - The Soaring Eagles' defense played the starring role as Juan Diego whipped its Catholic-school rival 35-7 and
boosted itself as one of the state's top 3-A schools.
Judge's best moment - It was a disappointing effort for the Bulldogs, who lost their third straight game. It's also the first time Judge has
lost to Juan Diego in three tries. Judge's only score came on a 28-yard pass from QB Chris Pell to WR Keenyn Walker.
Juan Diego's best moment - Juan Diego dominated. In front of a packed crowd with fans from both schools, the Soaring Eagle limited
Judge to 76 yards and just three first downs. QB Brian May passed for two scores and ran for another. The defense also had a TD on a
fumble return.
What we learned from the game - Juan Diego is for real, especially its defense. Judge needs to recover quickly and get some
momentum.
Next - Judge has homecoming against Orem. The game will be held at East High School's field. Juan Diego plays Salem Hills.

Sept. 12 - Logan 46, Judge Memorial 21
Story of the game - Logan QB Jeff Manning passed for 271 yards and four TDs, and the Grizzlies took advantage of three Judge
turnovers to take the non-region win. It was a rematch of last year's Class 3-A championship game.
Judge's best moment - Logan dominated the game, but Judge did have two quick scores. Mitch Wood had a 72-yard TD run in the
second quarer and Keenyn Walker broke loose on a 77-yard run in the final quarter.
Logan's best moment - Manning gets the headlines, but Josh Thompson accounted for 20 points on two TD catches, two field goals
and two extra points. The Grizzlies' offensive line was dominant after last week's disappointing loss to Sky View.
What we learned from this game - Judge trailed just 27-14 at halftime, but Logan came out and scored 19 points in the third quarter.
Judge has lost two straight, and its defense has given up 93 points in that time.
Next - Judge takes on rival Juan Diego in a non-region game at the Soaring Eagle's stadium in Draper. Logan

Sept. 5 - Highland (ID) 47, Judge Memorial 42
Story of the game - The game wasn't as close as the score indicated, but Judge made it interesting at the end. Stanford-bound QB
Taysom Hill scored on a 77-yard run on the first play of the game as Highland, of Pocatello, built a big lead and withstood a Judge
comeback.
Judge's best moment - The Bulldogs trailed 47-27 and noticed that Highland put in its reserved. The sparked Judge as Keenyn Walker
caught an 89-yard TD pass from QB Chris Pell and Mason Minhondo blocked a punt and returned it 30 yards for a score. An on-sides
kick failed, but Judge earned respect.
Highland's best moment - This was the Rams' season opener and their offense was amazing. This team is ranked No. 1 among
Idaho's largest schools. Hill passed for 150 yards and ran for 155 more. Also, Mark Scott returned a kickoff 90 yards for a score.
What we learned from this game - Check out Judge coach James Cordova's quote: "One thing about my kids is they have heart. They’
re never going to quit. When Highland put in their backups, that inspired us. It upset the kids. I didn’t say a word to them. The kids started
yelling and screaming and got themselves fired up.”
Next - Judge will play Logan at Juan Diego's field in a battle of 3-A powers. Highland plays host to Sacramento's Grant Union High,
which also plays Alta this season.

Aug. 22 - Judge 41, North Sanpete 6
Story of the game - The defense ruled as Paul Clark and Mason Minhando had two interceptions each in Judge's easy season-opening
victory.
Judge's best moment - The defense was able to set up the offense. The score of the game made it look like a rout, but when the
defense becomes the offense ... that can happen. On offense, the Bulldogs spread it around with five different players scoring, and they
got their own big plays, too.
North Sanpete's best moment - It wasn't a good way to start the season. The Hawks had too many turnovers. In the end, though, at
least they did score on a 1-yard run by QB Taylor Ricks. It's no fun to go scoreless in the season opener, so at least North Sanpete got to
touch the end zone.
What was learned from the game? - In season openers, the defense is often ahead of the offense. What made this game different was
that Judge got a lot of turnovers and was able to turn them into points. The Bulldogs also have a good feeling about playing at Juan
Diego's home field. Perhaps it can feel like "home" soon, too.
Next - Judge will play a non-region game at Ogden. North Sanpete returns home to play Ben Lomond.
