Oct. 23 - Pleasant Grove 41, Lehi 0

Story of the game - Pleasant Grove QB Dallas Lloyd threw three
touchdown passes and ran for another as the Vikings captured their
third straight region championship with a convincing road win over
Lehi.

Lehi's best moment - The Pioneers had just 98 yards, but
engineered a couple of decent drives. Their first drive ended at the PG
34-yard line, and another at the PG 2. In the end, the defense was on
the field too long and the Vikings wore them down.

Pleasant Grove's best moment - It was a dominating effort. The
Vikings led 28-0 at halftime, which took the home crowd out of the
game. PG was able to fill the game with reserves in the second half.

What was learned from the game - The more things change, the
more they stay the same. Lehi finished last in Region 4, despite vast
improvements overall, which led to a pair of wins.

Next week - Lehi is done for the season. Pleasant Grove advances to
the 5-A playoffs and will open at home against
Brighton.

report. but the Provo Herald was there. To read the Herald's story,

Oct. 15 - Spanish Fork 34, Lehi 6

Story of the game - Spanish Fork QB Breck Lewis threw for 392
yards and five touchdowns on 15-for-25 passing as the Dons
whipped Lehi in a Region 4 game.

Lehi's best moment - Lehi managed to cut Spanish Fork's lead to
eight just before halftime, putting together a drive behind E'an Bodily's
rushing and two personal foul penalties by the Dons. QB Jordan
Smith connecting with Josh Miller on a 28-yard pass for the score.

Spanish Fork's best moment - The Dons' offense has been
improving with each game and Lewis will likely earn a Div. 1
scholarship. He hit Chase Loftin on a 92-yard TD pass late in the
game.

What was learned from the game - Lehi is out of the post-season
race and, with Pleasant Grove up next, the Pioneers will likely end the
region season without a win.

Next week - Lehi returns home to play Pleasant Grove. Spanish Fork
has a home game against Lone Peak.

Provo Herald was there. To read the Herald's story,

Oct. 10 - Timpanogos 41, Lehi 11

Story of the game - It was the Parker Brown show, as he ran for two
scores, caught two others and even passed for one as Timpanogos
ruined Lehi's homecoming in the Region 4 game.

Lehi's best moment - The Pioneers controlled the first quarter. The
cold, windy conditions curbed Timpanogos' passing game and Lehi
took a 3-0 lead on a Brennan Stringham field goal.

Timpanogos' best moment - The Timberwolves led 13-3 at halftime,
and broke the game open with 28 points in the third quarter. The wind
died down, and Brown was able to throw easier. Timpanogos also
took advantage of a fumbled punt by Lehi.

What was learned from the game - Lehi had such high hopes
entering region play. With the region's two toughest foes coming up,
the Pioneers will likely be winless in region (again). There is hope for
the future, though.

Next week - Lehi has its longest road trip of the season, traveling to
Spanish Fork. Timpanogos plays host to Lone Peak.

information is limited. However, the Provo Herald was there. To read

Sept. 26 - Lone Peak 43, Lehi 0

Story of the game - QB Tannon Pederson threw three touchdown passes and RB Quade Chappuis had two scoring runs as Lone Peak
took advantage of five Lehi turnovers and took the easy Region 4 victory.

Lehi's best moment - In their first road game of the season, the Pioneers engineered a few good drives, but turnovers hurt their
chances.

Lone Peak's best moment - Chappuis started the scoring with a 62-yard run. He added another short TD run to make it 14-0. Pederson
had two scoring passes in the second quarter. It was 30-0 at halftime.

What was learned from the game - Coach Derrick Peyton knew the region season would be difficult, but he had to hope for a better
start. Fortunately, the Pioneers return home for two straight games, where they have played well.

Next week - Lehi takes on American Fork at home. Lone Peak plays host to Pleasant Grove.

Sept. 12 - Kearns 12, Lehi 8

Story of the game - Fatu Moala intercepted two passes, and the Kearns defense recovered two fumbles, blocked a punt for a safety and
held Lehi on downs late in the game to salvage a 12-8 non-region victory. Moala also had a 60-yard punt return.

Lehi's best moment - The defenses controlled the line of scrimmage and Lehi's Dylan Stadel was (again) dominant. On offense, QB
Jordan Smith completed 31of 51 passes - mostly for short yardage. But the Pioneers only managed just nine yards rushing.

Kearns' best moment - Ahead 12-8, Lehi drove the ball to the Kearns 12-yard line and had a first down with 38 seconds left. With its
fans roaring, and the pressure on, the Cougars' defense held and hung on to the win.

What was learned from the game - Kearns played without QB J.R. Finai. The Cougars' physical play dictated the game. Penalties hurt
the Cougars throughout the contest.

Next week - Lehi goes on the road for the first time, playing at Ben Lomond. Kearns has a tough matchup at home against Skyline.

Sept. 5 - Lehi 16, Provo 13

Story of the game - QB Jordan Smith hit Josh Miller with a 15-yard touchdown pass with two seconds left to lift Lehi to an exciting 16-13
non-region win over Provo. It was the third straight week the Pioneers have given their fans a thrilling game.

Lehi's best moment - The end, by far. Smith was sacked on the previously play. Instead of trying a field goal to tie the game, Lehi went
for the win and it paid off. Afterward, the hometown crowd went nuts for the second straight week.

Provo's best moment - QB Matt Grimer helped Provo control the football for nearly the entire third quarter. Kyler Hamilton punched in a
two-yard run for the Bulldogs' first score. On Lehi's second play of their only offensive possession in the third quarter, Andrew Yapias
stepped in front of a Smith pass and returned it 18-yards for the touchdown and the Provo lead.

What we learned from this game - Coach Derrick Peyton's plan to schedule four straight home games at the start of the season is
working. It's building confidence in Lehi, which has more wins now than in the last two seasons combined.

Next - Lehi will face its toughest foe to date - at home, of course - against Kearns. Provo is still winless and takes on Springville.

Aug. 29 - Lehi 25, Springville 16

Story of the game - The Lehi offense finally showed up, but it was the defense that keyed the Pioneers' first win in almost a year.
Defensive end Dylan Stadel had five sacks, recovered a fumble and sacked Springville QB Isaac Allred in the game's final minute for a
safety that secured the win.

Lehi's best moment - The Pioneers jumped to a 17-0 lead as RB Tyler Duclos scored on a pair of short runs. Lehi also found a new
kicker - sophomore Zach Morgan - who hit a pair of field goals that played a big role in the game. Stadel also had several moments.

Springville's best moment - Down 17-0 with just a few seconds left until halftime, coach Scott Mitchell called the hook-and-lateral. Allred
passed to Jordan Sumsion, who pitched it to Mark Dewyze, and it ended up being the Red Devils' first TD of the season.

What we learned from this game - Lehi's defense almost won last week's game, and it did the job again in week 2. The difference was
the Pioneers offense came alive. The offense did well in the first half, but faltered in the second half.

Next - Lehi takes on Provo in another home game. Springville (0-2) has its home opener against Wasatch.

Aug. 22 - West Jordan 2, Lehi 0

Story of the game - Say that again? 2-0. In a game filled with everything, including a 45-minute delay when the lights went out, West
Jordan got a safety and that ended up being the only score of the game.

Lehi's best moment - The defense. Certainly West Jordan had its chances, but the Pioneers had two impressive goal-line stands that
kept the Jaguars from scoring. Now, if only coach Derrick Peyton's offensive machine could get going. So far, he's had two years to
implement it, and has little to show.

West Jordan's best moment - The Jaguars' defense was great, too. The difference ended up being the special teams. They scored the
only points of the game on a blocked punt and, at the end, Devon Paraso blocked a 43-yard field goal attempt to seal the win. Like Lehi,
however, West Jordan's offense needs some work.

What we learned from this game - It is nice to see a defensive battle in this day and age. It was the first game of the season, and it
provided some of the best entertainment because one play could make the difference. With only three home games this year, West
Jordan should be happy to get the road win.

Next - Lehi has the second of four straight home games. This time, the Pioneers will take on Springville, which was unimpressive last
week. West Jordan plays at Mountain View.
