points apiece as Uintah built a big lead and then held off Maple
Mountain in a Region 8 contest.
Maple Mtn.'s best moment: The Golden Eagles trailed 49-26
going into the final quarter, but made a nice rally to make score
more respectable. K.J. Hall and Tyson Jex led the Eagles with
seven points apiece.
Uintah's best moment: The Utes dominated the game, jumping to
a 19-8 first-quarter lead and then kept extending it until filling the
game with reserves.
Statistical notes: Josh Ewell made both of Uintah's
three-pointers. Jex had a pair of treys for Maple Mountain. Uintah
shot 20-35 from the free-throw line. Maple Mountain was just 9-21.
What we learned from this game: The Eagles lost their seventh
straight game and are at the bottom of the region standings. So
far, they really haven't competed against any region team.

game that the Eagles really haven't been competitive. They are
young kids, but at some point that newfound experience they've
gained has to kick in.
