March 2 - West Jordan 52, Pleasant Grove 50

Story of the game: Andre Ashton scored 13 points, and played a big
role in the fourth quarter, as West Jordan rallied to edge Pleasant
Grove in the first round of the 5A state tournament.

PG's highlights: Brady Hoglund had the hot hand outside, scoring 15
points on perfect three-point shooting. Cory McAllister had 13 points,
and Sefa Tanoai 12, but missed the potential game-winning
three-pointer at the end. This was one of the best playoff games of
the night.

West Jordan's highlights: The Jaguars trailed most of the first half,
and had trouble rebounding against the bigger Vikings. Ashton and
Jordan Loveridge combined for some big baskets near the end.
Loveridge made 1-2 free throws late, and the Jags survived PG's final
shot attempt.

Statistical notes: Tanoai made 16 three-pointers during the season,
but none in the final five games. The Jags finished with a 9-2 home
record on the season. West Jordan made seven three-pointers from
four different players.

What we learned from this game: Both coaches agreed this was
one of the best games of the year, and there really wasn't a losing
team, even though PG ended up on the short end of the score.

What we learned from this game: Pleasant Grove earned its first win
of the season, and it was a close one. The Vikings could make it a lot
easier on themselves, though.

Dec. 2 - Springville 58, Pleasant Grove 46

Story of the game: Raul Delgado scored 20 points and led a rally
from a first-quarter deficit as Springville downed Pleasant Grove in a
non-region contest.

early in the game and led until late in the second quarter. Sefa Tanoai

12.

Nov. 25 - Lehi 59, Pleasant Grove 48

Story of the game: William Walker led a balanced scoring attack with
20 points as Lehi turned back Pleasant Grove in the season opener
for both teams at UVU.

Pleasant Grove's best moment: Joe Kruger led the Vikings with 12
points, but it was Cory McAllister's outside shooting that fueled
Pleasant Grove's rally. He finished with 11 points, including three
treys. This might have been the best game at UVU's tourney.

Lehi's best moment: The Pioneers grabbed a small early and slowly
extended it throughout the game. The final quarter was hurried, but
Lehi hung on. Josh Scott and Ryan Christofferson added 10 points
apiece.

Statistical notes: Lehi was 17-26 from the free-throw line. Pleasant
Grove was 9-15. Brady Hoglund and Sefa Tanoai each had 10 points
for Pleasant Grove. Lehi led 23-16 at halftime.

What we learned from this game: This was a good matchup to start
the season as both clubs should be pretty good. Kruger and
McAllister made a good inside-outside combination.
