Feb. 23 - West Jordan 54, Riverton 41
Story of the game: Jesse Herrin and Jordan Loveridge scored 13
points apiece as West Jordan shot past Riverton in the final game of
the Region 3 regular season.
Riverton's highlights: The Silverwolves reached the state tournament
with Taylorsville's loss, but they were no match for West Jordan on
this night. Jacob Peterson was the top scorer with nine points.
West Jordan's highlights: The Jaguars led most of the game, but put
it away in the fourth quarter with fine free-throw shooting. Herrin had
the hot hand outside again, nailing three treys. Jordan Pryor and
Andre Ashton added eight points each.
Statistical notes: Peterson's two best games of the season came
against West Jordan. The Jags had a big advantage at the free-throw
line, and nailed 25-31 charity shots. Riverton retaliated with eight
three-pointers from five different players.
What we learned from this game: This game was closer than the
score indicated, and Riverton actually felt better after the game when
it was revealed that it still earned a post-season berth.

Feb. 19 - Bingham 65, Riverton 48
Story of the game: Ben Clifford had another big night, scoring 20
points, as Bingham rolled past Riverton and stayed unbeaten in
Region 3.
Riverton's best moment: The scrappy Silverwolves tried to stay
close, and used their depth as best as they could. Bronson Schroeder
led the way with nine points, and Riverton had six three-pointers from
five different players.

What we learned from this game: Riverton is probably going to earn
a 5A state tournament berth, but will go in with a disappointing overall
record. The Silverwolves need some sort of spark because, in the
first round, they'll need it.

Jan. 22 - Copper Hills 73, Riverton 63

Statistical notes: Riverton shot a remarkable 21-22 from the
free-throw line. Copper Hills was 18-29. Cordova and Breiden

They gave up too many points on this night.

Jan. 19 - Taylorsville 49, Riverton 47

Metters had 12 as Taylorsville held off Riverton and earned its first

but roared out of the locker room in the third period and took the lead.
The game went back-and-forth until the end. Matt Hess and Bronson
Schroeder had 14 points each.
Taylorsville's best moment: This was a huge win for the Warriors,
but it wasn't easy. They never quit, even after Riverton grabbed the
momentum. Wesley Wright added eight points, including a pair of
three-pointers.
Statistical notes: Jordan Galley has come on strong lately, matching
his season high with eight points. Garrett Gundestrup had just two
points. Both teams shot about the same from the free-throw line.
What we learned from this game: This was a winnable game for
Riverton. The team made a nice rally, but couldn't finish it. The team
needs to win games like this to make the postseason.

doesn't matter now.

Statistical notes: Both teams shot over 80 percent from the
free-throw line. The 26 points was the most Riverton has given up in
any quarter this year.

games and now has two weeks off to prepare for the Region 3
season. Unless there is major improvement, it could be a tough year.

is playing good competition. The Silverwolves play just one game
over the next three weeks as they prepare for the Region 3 season.

as Riverton blew out Layton with a big second quarter and made that

rebounds as Fremont built an early lead and then held off Riverton's
comeback bid in this non-region game.
Riverton's best moment: The Silverwolves trailed the entire game,
and were behind 38-22 entering the fourth quarter when they came
back behind Garrett Gundestrup, who led with 17 points.

points apiece as Viewmont's deep bench made a big difference in
the Silverwolves' road victory.

Wright had 11 points each, and Wilkinson led with nine rebounds.
