Feb. 9 - Riverton 60, Taylorsville 37

Story of the game: Megan Johnson led four players in double
figures as Riverton stayed in contention for the Region 3 crown with
a convincing win over Taylorsville.

Taylorsville's highlights: The Warriors didn't have much to cheer
about, but they outscored Riverton 18-16 in the fourth quarter.
Sa'ane Lo'amanu had a big night with 21 points. Whitney Mitchell
had 12.

Riverton's highlights: Johnson, Caitlin Nelson, Allee Carter and
Katie Bodily combined for most of Riverton's points. Riverton
dominated play and built a 44-19 lead at one point. The
SIlverwolves shot 19-21 from the free-throw line.

Statistical notes: The 37 points was Taylorsville's season low, and
Riverton did it twice. Lo'amanu had three treys for the Warriors.

What we learned from this game: The loss sent Taylorsville into a
second-place tie with Riverton. The Warriors can still earn a tie for
the region crown, but must win the rest of their games.

Jan. 19 - Riverton 56, Taylorsville 37

Story of the game: Megan Johnson scored 18 points and Kylee
Hogue had 11 as Riverton dominated early and went on to blow
past Taylorsville in a Region 3 contest.

Taylorsville's highlights: The Warriors outscored Riverton 13-4 in
the fourth period to make the score appear closer. Whitney Mitchell
had 11 points and Erin Romero had nine.

Riverton's highlights: The Silverwolves led 16-3 after one period
and built the margin to 52-24 going into the final quarter. This was a
big effort and every player got involved.

Statistical notes: The teams combined to shoot 65 free throws.
Riverton shot just 18-37 from the line. Johnson was responsible for
most, going 10-17 and getting a couple of Taylorsville players in
foul trouble.

What we learned from this game: The Warriors dropped to 2-1 in
region mostly because they couldn't handle Riverton's inside play.

Dec. 18 - Alta 65, Taylorsville 38

Story of the game: Becca Beaudoin scored 31 points as Alta blew
the game open in the second half and handed Taylorsville its first
loss in a non-region game.

Taylorsville's best moment: The Warriors were in the game until
the final period. Saane Lo'amanu was the team's main scoring
threat, and she finished with 23 points. Whitney Mitchell added nine.

Alta's best moment: The Hawks led by 12 going into the final
period, and then outscored Taylorsville 22-7 to turn it into a rout.
Makenzi Morrison added 17 points and Erin Foster had 11 points
and 11 rebounds.

Statistical notes: Alta was 24-33 from the free-throw line.
Taylorsville was 14-20. Beaudoin's 30 points was a career high.

What we learned from this game: Taylorsville played Alta at the
wrong time. The Hawks were coming off their first loss, and handed
it to the Warriors. Let's see if Taylorsville can bounce back quickly.
